Wheather in the Chianti hills

Hi again. What can we expect for Temps. in the Chianti region in mid Sept. Is there a lot of rain? Does it cool off at night. Would we need a sweater? Thanks.
Neil

Neil,
I also will be in Chianti in Sept. Although I haven't been there before it is my understanding that it should be just about perfect. Perhaps a sweater in the evenings, but I have not heard of much rain that time of year.
Tuscany in Sep average is hi of 81 low
of 58 with 3.1 inches of rain for the
month. It was warmer than that in Sep
of 1997 my last trip to Tuscany.
I always take a rain coat.

We were in Tuscany the second week of september last year for a week. It rained once, but otherwise was very warm. I guess it was unseasonably hot last year. About 85 degrees F in the day. It cooled off a little at night, but not much. I had a jacket but never wore it. You probably should take a light sweater, just in case, but I'm betting you won't actually need it.

The rains usually don't get started until sometime in October, although there can be couple showers. I would take a cotton cardigan or blazer for nighttime just in case. Would bring a small umbrella but wouldn't bother with a raincoat.
