You are not alone. Me too.
I guess it has something to do with font-section in the page's source script.

There were dozens of them.. they would get deleted and then more kept coming! It was a constant barrage of spam.

Seems it's calm now but just wait. They'll be back! Not the first time!

I've had correspondence with one of the programmers at Fodors. They are working on a fix that would automatically detect and delete them, but it has not been an easy task. In the meantime, they have to be deleted "by hand" one at a time.

I used to be a moderator on another forum, and had to deal with deleting spam.. it SUCKS and I totally feel for the mods that are having to deal with this. I hope they can get the fix soon so they can relax a little!

It has been happening for a couple of weeks on several of the forums -- though Europe has been getting more than other boards. Last night was ESPECIALLY bad. You could see one being deleted only to have four new ones popping up. Hopefully the upgrade they installed this afternoon was to take care of this.

(One fodorite posted that it wasn't spam but simply advertising -- not in my book w/ hundreds some nights)

Guess the upgrade earlier today didn't have anything to do w/ the Korean spam

Back again tonight

There are nearly as many threads about them as there are Korean spam. Well OK I exaggerate slightly but there are now several threads running about them.
I don't understand why they can't just put in a Captcha or other authorising program into the sign up for an account. I know Captcha can be gone around by spambots in some cases but it might at least slow them down. When I owned a forum we had such a device in place to catch them.

I had 2 threads, on this matter, deleted almost immediately after I posted them. I guess the moderators are touchy about this.

You probably think that since most are deleted VERY quickly. Some nights there have been 80 or 100 'Korean' threads. My guess is there have been more than 1,000 in the last 10 days.

They seem to get deleted from the Forum, but not from the rss feed.
