What's up with Renfe website?
Hi,
I have been looking at Renfe's website for the last few days now for tickets for 14 Dec 2008 from Madrid to Cordoba and it is not showing up anything...I know you can only book it within 62 days but this is inside that time, so I was wondering... Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks! |
vibhav,
In theory one can book 62 days in advance online but in practice, I've found that not to be the case! For my latest trip in Nov. to Pamplona on the Altaria, I dutifully tried 62 days out to no avail- had to wait almost a week more for those fares to be loaded onto the Renfe system. Just be patient, which is a real virtue with Renfe! |
The Renfe tickets on-line system has suffered an energy disrupt for hours on the last weekend.
|
The true story behind renfe lack of service in the internet is that the mangnement(ownership) it is a state-own company so the managment is as close as it gets to ownership.
Are trying and succeeding to provide a lousy service so "there is no other alternative" that looking for a provider of the service outside the company. I ownder who's friend will be the provider. |
Thanks so much for your quick responses. I feel much better now! :-)

Hi vibhav,
The "new and improved" (??????) online Renfe is the site I just love to hate! |
You are funny Maribel... :-)
|
Patience is a "must" for an Spaniard..don't laugh at Maribel remark ;)
|
the renfe customer service explained this to me the best she could one frustrated day on phone when even a 5-6 weeks before the discounted fares were not up.
"you can order discounted fares on the phone 62 days in advance, and on the web when the department loads them, which is usually the same time frame but not always, especially in holiday season." good luck. if there were problems over the weekend hopefully they were doing their update! |
Still no trains for 14th of december on Renfe's website...it is 23rd of Oct today!! Painful...
