What's Tops?
 

I often see messages on this site like "Tops" or "to the Top" -- can someone please enlighten me?

that is just someone posting to move the tread to the top of the list.

by adding a message, no matter how small or insignificant, to raise this message "thread" back to the top, on the lefthand frame of your screen. <BR>
