What's the weather like in October

We have to travel after October 15 to use our frequent flyer miles.

I'm not too concerned about the weather in Paris since it's always rainy but I am concerned about Provence and the Riviera. We would be going to Paris October 18 and then Provence and the Riviera from October 23 to November 1. How is the weather compared to early May, wondering if we should just postpone until May of next year.

Also, where do I find the weather for France for the year?

Well last October, it didn't rain any of our days in Paris (10/14-10/18)
and the week before in St. Tropez it was gorgeous. Didn't need heat or air conditioning...
I had a jacket with me and I think I wore it 1 morning then I was sorry I had brought it.

"I'm not too concerned about the weather in Paris since it's always rainy" Huh?? News to me.

Anyway late October is OK in all those places - I'd prefer May myself but October will probably be fine.

I apologize for the comment on Paris, I was just told my quite a few people to expect rain and gray skies.

I'd still like opinions on traveling between October 15 and November 15 to Paris, Paris and the Riviera.

We go to Paris and parts of France every year around Oct 15 thru Nov 30 and seldom have found heavy rain..maybe a few gray days with sprinkles on and off but it's our favorite time.

Sorry no info on Provence..but we have found certain areas in France that are mainly tourist oriented "close up shop" so the hotel and restaurant operators can have their breaks.

I live in the Alpilles area of Provence (St. Remy, Avignon, Arles, Les Baux are all nearby) and October usually has very good weather. The rain doesn't start until mid-November... but for the past two years we've had hardly any rain in this area. The tourist season has actually extended until the end of October and hotels and restaurants stay open at least until the end of October and often don't close until mid-November.

Oh WOW! That's so good to hear, now I can plan my trip for October. Is it about the same for the Riviera, we'll probably visit St. Tropez and Cap-Ferrat.

PB Provence -

You have me worried. We're headed to France in November and will be in Provence and the Riviera the third week of the month. Will hotels and restaurants be closed?
