Very funny, Hal! I especially like the circus tale -- was her name Camille, by any chance?

SeaUrchin, I am falling off my chair laughing at this poor woman standing nude with a rug hanging out of her mouth. :-D

PS That is why one should always travel with a Swiss army knife. You just never know when it will come in handy.

Hal, TMI

Remember that thread about Bringing your own sheets on your trips? Now people will start bringing their own rugs!!
LOL, this has been so much fun to read:)

Marilyn - Not a "mountain climber", but never know what "peak" might need climbing. I'm always prepared.

Degas - I'm one gal who won't miss an opportunity regardless where or when; lucky to have an agreeable "buddy" and he me!

Oh, this is so much fun! Better (different) way to know your fellow posters.

topping for more?

Hal Jan 3rd, 2004 10:14 AM

OK, wren and others. I have searched around and can't determine what TMI means.

So anyone care to enlighten me.

Marilyn Jan 3rd, 2004 10:16 AM

TMI = Too Much Information :-D

Hal Jan 3rd, 2004 11:16 AM

Marilyn, thanks for the info. My first girlfriend's name was Marilyn. I was in 5th grade, she in 6th.

Anyway, to those who say TMI; I say TS. :-))

Marilyn Jan 3rd, 2004 11:23 AM

So you like older women, eh? :-D

Bob1 Jan 3rd, 2004 06:05 PM

gotta be more!

My friend and I were 20 and in Paris for the first time. I was vocally admiring a suede suit in a Montmartre shop window; the gorgous "older" Frenchman standing nearby (probably all of 40+something) suggested in perfect English that he would buy it for me if I spent the night with him. It was Saturday; the store was closed until Monday; my flight left first thing Sunday morning; no more story, no suede suit.

In Venice we made love standing at our hotel room window overlooking the Grand Canal. Sort of an exhibitionist kick, though people walking below and on the canal could only see our faces.

The most unusual sexist thing actually happened in Tokyo before I ever met Mrs. Fly--I'll have to post it in the Asia section some time.

Hal Jan 7th, 2004 03:32 PM

Marilyn re 'older women.' Well back then, as I recall, there were only a few kids in my small neighborhood, so the romantic (hand holding) matchups covered a 2-3 year range.

Nowadays, we have all aged; but, alas the women have aged faster. Not their fault I realize; just a cruel reality. So I mainly associate with women 15-20 years younger than myself.

Or perhaps as George Burns used to say, I would date women my age, but there are no women my age.

cigalechanta Jan 7th, 2004 03:38 PM

Isn't that funny, Hal , I think the opposite.

Re: though people walking below and on the canal could only see our faces.

I sure hope they saw smiles on your faces. :)

I never did post a serious story here. On a trip to Paris & Provence back in September of 1999, with a former girlfriend, we were at Les Baux about a half-hour before closing and only a few other people were there. I'll leave the details to your vivid imaginations but let's just say I put a very nice smile on her face as the sun was beginning to set. We had a similar experience a few days later in Entrevaux (sp?), a very cool walled village in Haute Provence, on our way from the Gorges du Verdon to Nice. To get to the citadel at Entrevaux, you walk up this series of zig zags. We climbed up to the highest room in the citadel (it is -- or was -- in need of restoration), made sure that no one else was even remotely around and, once again, a smile lit up her beautiful face.

Ah, nice memories.

Capo, did she always smile when you gave her a candy bar?

Marilyn Jan 7th, 2004 03:56 PM

I think Capo was her candy man.

capo Jan 7th, 2004 03:58 PM

See, I just knew you'd have a vivid imagination. :)

ChatNoir Jan 7th, 2004 04:01 PM

Marilyn, at least you can make a candy bar LAST as long as you want it to!
