E&O in Notting Hill is great- fusion food and very trendy.

The Square is a sondeful French resturant off Bond Street. Their tasting meal runs about £75-80 per person not including wine.

The Ivy and the Woseley are very trendy. I've only been to the Ivy and thought that the food was very good and you can't beat the "vibe." Close to impossible to book a table though!

For after dinner dining try Asia de Cuba on St Martin's Lane. While some will disagree, I love the food and it's alot of fun.

Assaggi in Notting Hill is considered to best on eof the best Italian places in London. Best to try for a table mid week as it also books up quickly. The menu is entirely in Italian and part of the enjoyment is having each and every item explained in detail by the waiter or owner. Just try not to order everything! It's above a pub and hard to find but worth it!

If you are really set on a certain place but cannot book for dinner, try for lunch. It will be alot less expensive.

Le Gavroche no longer has three stars and, although it might have been the first 3* place, wasn't the only one.

Gordon Ramsay in London, and the Fat Duck and the Waterside Inn (both in Bray, and pretty close to London, kmsulli) also have three stars.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to convince my husband to be more adventurous & try some new cuisines!

My husband and I were in London early September and the best meal we had was at OXO. The restaurant is at the top of the OXO building. It is expensive but fabulous and the view is wonderful.
London has some great Indian cuisine as well. We had a great meal in Covent Garden. Can't remember the name of the place. The owner was very friendly and went around talking to everyone. Have fun!
