Barb, I suggest you make a reservation for Il Gabriello as they have a good local business and people were waiting last Saturday when we were there.

The gnocchi were wonderful as was the ravioli stuffed with seafood that my partner enjoyed. It is the second ravioli on the menu.

Good suggestion - any idea on the best time to go? How are the prices? Any other recommendations for good restaurants, not too pricey?

topping because you folks make the food sound wonderful and Pienza sound like a place to add to my list. Has anyone tried to make this at home? J.

Barb, Il Gabriello is what I would consider moderate. We each had an appetizer and a pasta dish, one entree only, nice bottle of wine, two desserts, a port and the bill was under 100 Euro. It is nice restaruant with good service.

We also like Il Canonica in Trastevere for a reasonable dinner. There are many good palces to eat in this neighborhood; just follow your nose!

The timing of your post is perfect. I'll be in Pienza and Roma in Sept. Putting these places on my LIST.

Grazie!
