What's the hotel policy regarding bringing in guests to your room?

As lavandula wrote, many hotels in Germany price rooms based on occupancy. Just like many motels in the US do.
So if you rent a room for "one" person for €70 it's usually a discounted price for a standard room for two that would otherwise cost €80. Sometimes you'd then find towels, pillows and linens for only one person in the room.
If you wanted to let someone stay overnight, you'd just tell the reception and pay the difference. The only limit would be the maximum allowed occupancy of any room.
I wouldn't say that there is no hotel in the country that restricted daytime visits from "strangers", but it would be a very odd exception. I might expect such house rules maybe for hostel dorms.

Did you book for two adults? The rate is typically the same (but not always). If so, you're 100% entitled to bring a guest to your room.
I've never known a hotel to do bed checks. Just walk in the front door, stroll to the elevator, and go up to your room. And, perhaps, lock your valuables in the safe in the room.

I don't know of any universal restrictions on the hours for that sort of activity, Annhig. Unfortunately, in my household my Wife establishes those standards, not I.>>
"unfortunately", nukesafe?
Perhaps we need to draw a veil over any further revelations.

That reminds me of the story about the woman who was raped in Qatar and then convicted of for having premarital sex.

Similar cases in other countries in the region, like Dubai.
Why do people go to such medieval countries?
