what's the difference between a couchette and a sleeper car?

Traveling from Dijon to Venice in 2 days (can't wait, we leave for Paris tonight!!) and am wondering whether to make a reservation for a couchette or a sleeper car? It is just my husband and I and we want #1 safety, #2 privacy.

We have railpass, so the supplemental cost isn't really an issue.

thank you!!

If you want privacy, you'll want a 2-person sleeper. Couchettes are not private, and there will be 6 beds in the compartment. It WILL cost more, even with the Railpass, but I'm not sure how much on this route. The only place I've seen with prices is:
www.euraide.de
