What's the difference?
 

I am planning on travelling on the overnight train from Prague to Frankfurt. I've checked on the different types of train accommodations. Naturally, I would like to spend as little as possible. How much better are the private comparments with a triple compared to the couchette bunk beds? It is only 10 Euros more for the private. I've spent a night on a bunk bed in a Spanish sleeper train . Not too bad. Would that be a comparable experience?

if you don't get other replies, I would repost your question with more detail in the title so it catches someone's eye that may know.

A three-berth sleeping compartment has three bunks with full bedding, a wash basin and space to hang clothes. If you share with strangers, you share with people of the same sex.
Couchettes have four or six bunks in a compartment. You get a blanket, sheet and pillow, but sleep in your day clothes. You share with people of either sex.
All sleeping and couchette compartments are private in that they can be locked from the inside.
In Spain, a couchette is known as a "litera" and a sleeping car is a "coche cama".

For 10 euros i would always take the triple over a 6-person couchette - same room size but half as many bunks - leisurely room for luggage, etc. and sex segregated if that makes a difference.
