What's the best way to get from Dubrovnik to Hvar?
 

Ferry from Dubrovnik or drive to Split then take a ferry from there?
We are renting a house on HVAR for three nights and was wondering what the options are.
I understand that the ferry from Dubrovnik leaves at 4 pm every day and it takes maybe three hours...
We'd be checking in around 7 pm if we took the ferry from Dubrovnik.
.. Kind of late.
Are there alternatives?
Any private catamarans or anything that might work out for us so we won't have to wait until 4 PM?

Alternative is to take a bus to Split (buses leave practically hourly, take about 4 hours)
then ferry* to Stari Grad, then bus to Hvar town

(* important--this is the schedule until the 27th of September, go to the website and look at the low season schedule if this is after the 27th):

Time-wise, if you take a bus to Split, of the 4 catamaran options I mentioned, either the one that goes to Vela Luka or the one that goes to PRIGRADICA would work best because they leave Split in the afternoon (versus the morning).
