I love molded leather books used for photos, address books, guest books, etc.

The workmanship is exquisite, and I cannot find a prettier scrapbook.

While in San Gim. I happened on this little shop full of cards, prints and paintings, some framed. The sizes ran the gambit. The shop keeper was a painter, made his own frames and his shop was along one of the main passages. The man's prices were so ridiculously low that I picked up several framed water colors and gave a some away. The rest are situated around the house and are my constant reminder of an awesome trip.

This morning I am writing thank you notes on the beautiful note cards I bought from the street (5 euro per package) in Florence. They may not be the "best" Florentine paper, but they are really lovely. Two of my kids will be in Florence next March on a choir trip-I'm going to ask them to bring back more for me.

Furla purses and shoes, etc. They have some USA stores (Orlando), but the price in Europe is WAY less expensive.

Every time I have been to Italy I buy one or two handbags. I've purchased in Milan, Florence, and Lucca. Lucca is my favorite place in Italy!!

a cooking class in Florence was awesome. shopping at the market for fresh produce and experiencing all the sights and tastes of Great Italian cooking was the BEST !

Another vote for the Leather School. (Scuola del Cuoio) It is behind the Monastery of Santa Croce-go down the side street- San Giuseppe 5R- enter through the garden and up the stairs to the school. My husband bought a suit coat which is gorgeous. I tell him I am going to show him at his funeral with it- then take it off and give it to someone else - it is far too expensive to bury!! I bought a purse in a backpack style. We had each item embossed with our initials. There were also many types of little cases to carry in your purse which made terrific souvenirs. They will also emboss these little items so your friends at home know you actually thought of them on vacation. Look at http://www.leatherschool.com for an idea of prices and styles.
