What's in your cone?

In Paris do you prefer "Amarino" or "Berthillon"?

My vote goes to "Amarino". Can't get enough, especially the coconut.

What's your favorite?

Amarino, hands down.

Anywhere in Provence my flavor would be blackcurrant (cassis). Fortunately Ben & Jerry's has a mixed-berry sorbet that is a bit similar.

Hi T,

Berthillon's ice cream is very good.

Amarino's gelato is excellent.

Another one of my favorites was Lavender ice cream at a small shop in Tourettes-sur-loop. Definitely worth a try.

I'm not familiar with Amarino; is it as widely available as Berthillon?

I have tried both Berthillions and Amarino. I prefer ice creams to sorbets or gelatos.
The best ice cream in Paris is available right here at home,, Coffee Haagen Daaz.!!!!!
Ate it every day in Paris this past July it was so hot. There was an Amarinos near our hotel by the Pantheon.. I liked it better then Berthillions( hey they get points just for the way they scoop it into a flower shape, but I still prefer Haagen Daas for overall creaminess.

grandmere - Berthillon is sold all over town, including restos and cafes. I believe Amorino is available only at their shops. Fortunately there are several of them. www.amorino.fr/boutiques.htm
