What's best in Ireland?
 

Considering a trip this summer w/ wife and 2 dtrs (20 and 19). What would be fun? Where is it most beautiful? And where would you stay?

Your daughters would probably like Galway. Happening college town that is very cute. Lots of cute college boys running around (although now I'm sure you'll avoid Galway! Your daughers can hang out late and go dancing til the wee hours...;-) ). The Connemara area northwest of Galway is wild and wonderful.<BR><BR>Dingle is an often mentioned favorite here as well.

Mina hit my favorites, Galway and Dingle. Galway would be great for the girls to go out on their own and have fun. Safe, not to big, and enough to keep busy. I would say Dublin might be worth a try considering their ages, they may like the city. Make sure to visit the cliffs.

Well, the Guinness, the people, the Guinness, the scenery, the Guinness, the castles, the Guinness, the food, the Guinness, the pubs, the Guinness, the music, and the Guinness. And, did I mention that the Guinness is quite good?

1) Cliffs of Moher and the Burren<BR>2) Blarney Stone (Blarney Woolen Mills for great shopping)<BR>3) Jameson Distillery (such a neat place)<BR>4) Waterford Factory (an amazing experience)<BR>5) Kilkenny<BR>6) Cashel<BR><BR>Those are my suggestion. Had a GREAT time at all those places and they seem to be the &quot;tour guide&quot; highlights to hit. I would fly into Shannon and fly out of Dublin though if you can. Would mean you can see a lot more with the same amount of driving.

The best of Ireland for me was the scenery of Dingle Peninsula, Conner Pass on the Peninsula and Slea Head Drive. Next would be the Connemara and Cliffs of Moher. YOur girls would like the pubs and nightlife of Galway and Dublin. (I can still smell the peat fires in the pubs and hear the music, you will like it too!)

dublin...see trinity college, river liffey, jameson's distillery.<BR>cork/kinsale...culinary capital of ireland.<BR>galway/doolin...traditional irish music capital. clost to the cliffs of moher too, and they are pretty wild. have a pint, sit back and listen. nothing beats it.<BR>hints...dress dry, it gets wet on the west coast of ireland. irelands small and this can pretty much be done in a week via train and/or rental car. the roads are very, very primitive though. small, bumpy and unpaved. enjoy.
