What's a nice hotel close to train station in Bern for easy access to Zurich Airport?

I'm looking for a nice moderately priced hotel in Bern for my sister-in-law who will be traveling by herself. She will need easy access to a train staion that will take her directly to Zurich Airport. Any ideas?

Moderately priced might include the Bristol.

Thanks Dukey~ checked it out on Trip Advisor and apparently there is a lot of construction going on right in front of the hotel.

Any other ideas?

Unfortunately I don't. The places I have stayed would not be considered moderately priced. Perhaps someone else will see this and comment.

Safety and locale probably most important. Also, she will be arriving by herself probably mid-late evening so it's important that the walk to the hotel is safe and an attendent on desk duty.

I said moderately priced as she will literally be just sleeping there overnight before she gets on a train in the morning for Zurich Airport. Price is not the first priority.

I'm checking out Best Western Baeren.

ANY other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dukey for your input!

Bern is not very big, but depending on exactly when she arrives I don't know if I'd recommend her walking from the train station to her hotel. The town feels safe enough, but the area around the station (as in many cities) is not the nicest part of town.

On Tripadvisor.com, the Hotel Goldener Schlussel and the Zum Goldenen Adler both get good reviews and seem to be very moderately priced. I have no experience at either hotel. We stayed at the Belle Epoque which is across the street from the Adler. Not particularly close to the train station, but an easy walk down a main street.

If she's arriving mid- to late-evening and leaving first thing in the morning, has she considered just pressing on to Zurich for the night?

Jean ~ I think you have a valid point.

As I said to my husband, I wouldn't mind getting off by myself at a train station in an airport ( Zurich) and then getting a taxi or shuttle to my airport. I might be a little nervous in a strange country late in the evening at a town/city train station and walking to my hotel.

Maybe best to find an easily accessible/moderately priced hotel at Zurich Airport for her.

Thanks!

I don't think she has to go all the way to the Zurich airport for the night. She could stay somewhere near the main Zurich station which, by the way, is in a pretty nice area. Depending on when she has to get to the airport the next morning, she might have the opportunity to take a nice walk along the river in Zurich before she departs.
