You spent a lot of time on that blog, I really like it with the photos.

That waiter at the GTG was pretty cute.

Christina - I was so busy looking at the faces of the Fodorites that I actually missed the waiter! But you're right, he is cute! Oh, the Fodorites are pretty good-looking too. But if I could only tell who's who....

Haven't been on fodors forever due to work, but I checked it out tonight and what a great surprise. Just three words for you:

I'm so (friggin)jealous.

Looks like you're having a wonderful trip and the food looks incredible. Will definitely check back in a few weeks to read your food reports...

Thanks for the positive comments. I didnt think of it as much as a food report as a GTG report but you are right - more attention to the food than the people! LOL
Here is a little blurb on the restaurant:
"Le Cottage Marcadet
151 bis rue Marcadet
phone : 01 42 57 71 22
This very cosy place has since 2006 a new owner-chef who has, in spite of his youth, worked in many 3 stars restaurants where he gained very valuable experience. Prices here may be high unless you take the excellent 28¤ menu. It is surprising to find such a charming place in this very common street.
If you like desserts it is the place to visit, they are here as good as the one served at Giufeli.
Formal atmosphere."

That cute guy in the picture (not me - the other one with the white apron) is not a waiter. He is the owner-chef! He is 26 year old Cyril Choisne.

(hmmm - my wife said he was cute, too.)

We each had the formula lunch - E27.50 for Entree + plat or plat + dessert. E35 for all 3 - not bad, I think.
None of us had dessert.

We had reservations and I note on the card that it says "Open Tuesday to Saturday by reservation" and they did turn people away at the door. It is a tiny place, 6 tables, but I think it is worth reserving.
I remarked to the waiter that it was nice to see the absence of foam on the food. That is a little overdone by now don't you think?
My wife Sandy had the rocket soup and said it was delicious... rocket, flowers, parmesan, tomato confite as a veloute. (Not often that she doesn't even offer me a taste!)
I will see if I can photograph the menu and put it on the blog site.

I agree. (Sometimes I think "foam" on food looks more like spit - hardly appetising! :-& )

Wonderful. Love the pictures. Its very eary for me to write, that said.
The food looks great. Wouldn't you love a job where you just take pictures of foods around the world? Of course, Bon Apetit or Gourmet or Saveur would foot the bills and expenses.

It looks like its a tad coolish there, sweaters and jackets?
