I explored other travel sites: walking tours, biking tours - stuff like that. A couple of days away from Fodors I can take - maybe a week - but any longer would just not be a good thing. Glad to get back to reading all your first hand experiences.

I laughed so hard at everyone's messages: "feeling serious withdrawal; developing the shakes, etc."
Laughed because I could totally relate. You have no idea the shock it gave me when I tried to get on and couldn't. God bless Fodor's.

To Teen Pimple,

I think I, I think I love you. But I want to know for sure. Can I squeeze you?

Woops, sorry folks, I got my threads crossed. I was looking for my drunk mom and the fine young assemblage of fresh faced youth that she, god knows how, has attracted. I need retraining. Two days is just too long to recover those lost skills.

Cindy: Let the dogs lick the house clean! I sprinkle sugar everywhere, and my house sparkles!

Whooo Boy, I am so glad you are back! I checked at least 6 times yesterday and gave up after 5:00 pm. I e-mailed Danny twice, just in case he needed a little help--ha Ha....did have to go to Frommers a few times(I saw Nigel and Karen's posts there). And even visited Rick Steves's Graffitti wall a few times! That is how desparate I was! Had to go to my fav. Italian restaurant and "have a bottle of red, bottle of white". Now I am a little fuzzy brained....FYI. Judy

Holly, you may be onto something there. Tell me, is the house sticky when the pups are finished? Are the dogs more thorough in their cleaning than my children? Do you let the dogs clean up the toilets and kitchen counters, or is that considered to be in poor taste?

No, no, no, Cindy. The dogs are very thorough. Much better than the vacuum cleaner. I can't compare them to your children because I haven't seen your house. All kidding aside, they are Very Good at cleaning the kitchen counters.

During the "shut-down", I took time to take down the Christmas decorations, including the tree. I was early this year.

Well, between the 48 (? how many hours did it last all total?) and a quickie two-nighter to Fort Myers Beach, it seems like an eternity since I was here!

Glad to hear no one is in a straight jacket - - or maybe I can't assume that - - they wouldn't be able to come here and type, now would they - - if that had happened to them!

And I am sooooooo happy not to have to try to deal with my addiction by fumbling around any further on the Thorn Tree! It just doesn't do it for me - - I am somewhat surprised that it ever did!

Best wishes,

Rex
