Oh, there's only one linen shop in Monticchiello (I don't think there's more than one of anything there, except for the two restaurants). I can't remember exactly where it is, but I think it was near the church. I'm sure if you asked anyone in town they'd direct you to it, and you'll be just a few minutes away from it no matter where you.

Make that "...no matter where you are."

StuDudley -- we used some of your routes on our trip last week and the suggestions were wonderful. On your recommendation, we took a picnic to Sant Antimo Abbey -- what a great day!

Glad you liked my suggestions.

I am now planning a trip to Tuscany. wonder how your trip went and what you had first selected for Chianti area. I did read your comments and replies on Val d'Orcia.

Which would you choose to visit: Siena or San Gimignano? Is it worth the drive from So Tuscany to Greve? We arrived from Milwaukee on Saturday and are mesmerized. Staying at a 250 year old renovated farm house in San Giovanni d'Asso. Thank you!

Siena. San Gimignano is of modest interest, at best. A one hour stop.

Siena is a cultural and artistic centre, an architectural marvel and overall a great, walkable city.

I agree---Siena.
Forget Greve---stay in south Tuscany.
