What train can I take from Paris to Amboise?

As stated, I search RATP but it isn't producing any results.

Thank you for your time! We leave Monday night!

Hi Emily

RATP is for Paris area. This is the SNCF website to find Paris/Amboise trains

If you're going to look at the chateaux, you can't just stop at one. So you will probably need to rent a car.

Tours is often used as the base for going to all the chateaux.

Amboise is a fine base for touring chateaux, and much easier to drive in and out of than Tours.

The TGV goes to a stop just outside of Tours called St Pierre des Corps. From there, you can pick up a car at Avis, which has a lot right there at the train station.

The drive to Amboise is easy, and if you stay at le Manoir les Minimes, you drive from the D road right into their courtyard.

We visited Amboise and its chateau, Cheverny and Chambord (Chenonceau would be good, too, but we'd already been there).

We moved to Chinon for a couple of nights, visited its fortress/ruins, and Azay-le-Rideau and L'Abbaye de Fontrevaud.

This was our first driving experience in Europe and we did ok.

Reserve your car using the English option at www.Avis.FR rather than the US site - at least, when I did so, the overall rate was quite a bit cheaper and included the insurance.
