What tour company for 16 year old to Stonehenge?

My parents are taking me to London in June and I would like to see Stone Henge. I will be taking a day tour on my own. If you have any suggestions for a tour company I would appreciate it. I have tried e-mailing
Astral tours but no response? Thank you.

(Yes I used my mom's Fodors account to post!)

I took my 13 yo son and 15 yo daughter on Astral's "Inner Circle" tour to Stonehenge (Avebury, etc.) last summer and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. As I recall, it took them a couple of days to reply to e-mails, but one we made the reservation everything went smoothly. Bring your own food and beverages!

Try e-mailing [email protected]

Thank you Ms. Ellen! I will try that e-mail address.

I also have taken the tour with Astral travel. We took the Stones & Bones tour. We had lunch in a wonderful little pub that was included with the tour. The tour that we wanted was the Stonehenge Special Access Tour. Our stay fell in between the dates the tour was offered. This is a tour that allows people INSIDE the circle after the site closes!

http://www.astraltravels.co.uk/astra...ccess_tour.htm

If you have any choice, try to arrive at Stonehenge either very early in the day or very late...before or after the dozens of tour buses are there.

Here's another company that says they offer "inner circle" tours:

http://www.stonehengetours.com

At age 16, you may find that most of your fellow tourists on a group bus tour are much older than you. That's not necessarily bad, but be prepared for it (you could take a Walkman or MP3 player if you need to tune out for a while).

Actually, Stonehengetours.com is just a branch of Astral Travel. We thoroughly enjoyed the Inner Circle tour, which goes inside the Stonehenge circle after it's officially closed, just before sunset. They even gave us metal dowsing rods to see what we could find!

The bus driver for the Astral Inner Circle tour didn't do a constant narration, but he did point out things along the way quite frequently, which you'd miss if using headphones. For instance, we saw crop circles -- and then the pub where they're allegedly planned!
Took the Astral tours trip in November 2000. Our guide Louise was wonderful. Had a great lunch, also went to Salisbury, Avbury on the tour.
