What to see in one week in Portugal?

We are planning a trip for April 19-27.We would like to see Lisbon and then head south in the hopes of staying with good weather. Is a few days enough for Lisbon? Are there day trips to places west and north of Lisbon that we could take while staying in Lisbon.Should we rent a car to drive south or go with a tour? I think that we would like to see the Algarve and Sagres- beyond that we aren't sure. Thanks.

We were in Lisbon at the end of April this past year. The weather was warm (25C/80sF) and it was very pleasant. We spent three days in Lisbon and one day in Sintra. I think that two days is plenty for Lisbon. I would definitely recommend Sintra for a day (an hour by train from central Lisbon) and then wandering down to the south.

Hope this helps!

Hi. In the "middle" of Lisbon and the Algarve, try to visit Evora. It's very beautiful on that time of the year. As for Lisbon and to Sagres, if you need some quick answers (as a starter), you can use the URL above (I am doing it), and when you have more doubts...just ask

I would make a varied trip. I would stay three nights in Lisbon, enough to see its major sights, making a side trip to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. Then would head south and stay one night in Evora, Alentejo landscapes in April are wonderful specially if you take one of those quiet secondary roads and drive through the white little villages with their huge chimneys. From Evora you can drive south to the Algarve, staying preferably in Sagres area or Lagos area. Algar Seco Marine point (close to Carvoeiro), Praia dos Tres Irmaos/Alvor and Sagres region are probably my favourite spots in this area.
