What to pack in Aug in Ireland
We are leaving for Ireland 8/15. What apparel is essential besides an umbrella :)?
Shorts ok or too cool, need pants. Jacket, sweater, suggestions? thanks |
I've been April, May, June, Sept., Oct. and Nov. I've taken one pair of comfortable shoes(SAS) worn the other pair of course, overshoes, cotton slacks, tops, windbreaker or raincoat, silk long johns(I'm sure you would not need them in Aug.) sweater. In other words, layer. One time it was warm in June and I just rolled up the sleeves of my cotton shirt. I tend to buy my umbrellas in Ireland. I'm forgetful at times. Have a great trip.

I'm also going to be travelling to Ireland this August! I'm leaving tomorrow (the 13th) to be exact... I'm taking a lightweight windbreaker for sure - something waterproof I can wear over my other clothing. I'm not really taking anything too warm. a hoodie/sweatshirt or 2. I'm not taking an umbrella though... I'm from Vancouver and we get rain here like 300 days a year so I'm not too worried about that. I am bringing some summer clothing, but that's mostly because I'll be in France right after. Where are you going to be in Ireland?

Have a look at www.weatheronline.co.uk and click on Ireland. Next few days the low is at 11C/50F and the high 19C/66F with rain showers. As always dress in layers. Sandy |
I cam back from Ireland this morning. The temperature in Dublin and in the midlands was between 13.5 and 17 degrees all weekend. It rained and rained.
So - shorts are not needed but umbrellas are. |
