What to pack for Paris in February

My first trip to Paris will be in February with my husband. We will be there for 10 days and I want to pack so I can take the metro from the airport to Paris. Please help...Do we need dressy clothes for the evening? Thanks in advance...Toni

Dear Toni: You're wise to pack in the least amount of luggage you can manage. The Air France bus will get you from the airport to town quite easily and if you choose a hotel close to someplace such as the Arc de Triomphe--there are JILLIONS-- you can walk to your hotel from the drop-off point. As to clothes, prepare for chilly, often WET weather and take a raincoat with a warm liner; for evenings a simple little black dress (which the French have long glorified) can go out night after night. Take comfortable walking shoes with rubber soles for daytime; moderately dressy low-heeled pumps to go with the black dress. There's lots going on in Paris in February so you should have a good time. I hope so. Joan
