What to do with luggage in pompeii
we will be coming from Capri on our way back up to Rome. Wanted to visit Pompeii but not sure where to put the luggage. Any idea's?

I know there are several shops at/near the entrance - perhaps you could ask them to hold the luggage for you for a fee. Just a thought - or - are there lockers at the train station, if that's how you are travelling, where you can leave the luggage?

Hi
There is a left luggage service which is free of charge. Please refer the following link of the official Pompeii website - it was harder to find than the ruins themselves!! http://www2.pompeiisites.org/databas...f!OpenDocument To really appreciate the site you really need a tour guide or at least hire the Audio Guide service. We used the Audio service. It was excellent but it was tricky synchronising the Audio so we were looking at things the same time. No biggie! It got warm there (Sept) so bring a hat and plenty of water. Enjoy your visit to a truly remarkable site. Cheers Mauro |
At Pompeii's entrance there is a free manned left luggage, it's just to the right of the ticket collecting turnstiles (not the ticket sales windows).
It's probably ~125m from the station to the luggage storage. Also I have heard that the cafe inside the Circumvesuviana station will watch your luggage, for a fee of course. Regards, Walter |

Thank you for the info on the luggage storage...I would never have thought to take it with me to the gate.
