what to do with 1 free day.

hi there.
My wife and I are going to Italy in september.for 3 weeks. our itinary is looking like so:
get in rome on the 11th
we spend 3 days in rome.
on the 15th we get to positano.we stay on the cost till the 17th, including 1 day in capri.on the 18 we do pompei and get to tuscany.we stay till the 21 and plan to visit sienna, san gimignaro and some other villages.on the 22 we do florence, and get to 5 terres.stay around 5 terres till the 25. we finih with 3 days in venice and fly away from there.

we have 1 extra day we need to fill.
where should we go or see?
should we cut somewhere and see something else, or should we add it to one of our stops?
is there a 1 day wonder place you suggest us to go to? (I like to see things, as opposed to sit on the beach or relax...)

our hostels are reserved untill we leave capri. after that, we can move things around...

thanks a lot

Where is the extra day?

It could be anywhere and it could be nowhere - you just don't say.

Hey Mathvw,

If I were you I would spend my extra day in florence. It may be a smaller city but I feel it deserves the extra time.

Have a great trip!!!

I have to agree with that. There's no way to "do" Florence in a day. A second day will help you get your bearings.

We spent three days in Florence and I felt like I needed a week.

You're already bouncing around like a yo-yo all over Italy, giving very little time to very important places. I guess adding a day to Florence makes sense, but if it were me I'd rework the entire plan.

thanks for the imput.
We might very well do that.
Time is always limited and we try to get the most out of it. We probably will never go back, might as well get to see as much as we can. 2 days in florence is a great idea.
thanks.

Hi M,

>...on the 22 we do florence, and get to 5 terres.

You might consider adding your free day to Florence. One day is really not enough to enjoy the city.
