Maybe this will get you started. Good luck~

Are you going to go to a school, or spend time having fun, or both? If you want to get into a language school, I suggest you do some research for schools in Geneva first. Unless you will be in Switzerland for an extended visit, you might find that a good language school will take all your time, leaving little time for fun. Good luck.

Well, actually i want somewhere where i can have the most of fun, which city is that???

Your post makes one think you are going to school but on second reading, maybe you want to have fun with students as you are 23? Personally, I wouldn't head for a city as the young people of the area will be outdoors in August. Check out the Berner Oberland--Lauterbrunen or Grindlewald--they are in the mountain areas. Do some research and determine what kind of activities you like and you will likely find people you have something in common with and forget the cities. Paul

I thought Zurich had a young vibe, with clubs, shopping and bars...etc. Maybe spend a few days (and fun nights) there, near the university, then take a train to the Berner Oberland and stay in Lauterbrunnen for hiking, paragliding and spectacular mountain views. I was disappointed in Lausanne and Montreaux as compared with the Germanic and Italian speaking cantons of Switzerland, but all were fun.

Having spent time in each of these places, I would not call any of them "fun" or send a young person there to have a good time.

Geneva is a huge city, so I'm not sure how or where you'd hook up with other young people. It is more an international business center not party central.

Lausanne is mid-sized and I think your best choice of the three. Montreux is a fairly small town and not much night-life to speak of.

I'm not sure how you set upon this part of Switzerland to visit. I think there's tons of better places in Europe to party... Amsterdam or Berlin come to mind.

After your other terrible and insulting post I don't think you are going to get very much help here on Fodor's chuy.
