Oh I dunno tflulgjura, we can all sleep when we're dead right? :D
I'm impressed that you're able to change your plans from Sept to June so quickly. I don't think I could swing that for work, even for a sister-in-law! So, about Rome. The fact that you will be arriving from Amsterdam instead of the States changes things for the better! Of course you will go through immigration in Amsterdam, so that's taken care of, giving you more time at Rome. You can get some euros in Amsterdam too, if you need to. And you said you won't have to wait for checked luggage - but you'll probably want to store your bags for your dash into the city. (I just googled "FCO left luggage" and it appears there's one on the ground floor of Terminal 3... FWIW the airport's train station is at Terminal 1.) If it works out, great. And if not, Albania is so close to Italy I'm sure you'll return soon! My travels during those 20 years didn't bring me all that near to Italy. To be honest, I kind of forgot how great it is! But when my sister moved there for a little while I returned, and now it's back in my top destinations list. ;) |
