What to do in Paris, Lucerne, Venice, Barcelona??
So I booked my 10 day trip to Europe flights hotel and train included. Itinerary: Paris -2 days, Lucerne - 3 days, Venice - 2 days, Barcelona - 3 days. Now I need advise on what to do, where to go, transportation advise please. I need recommendations on tourist attractions, restaurants, clubs/bars, museums, anything. This is my first time and I need all the help I can get. Also I was thinking of taking a train to Interlaken for a scenic tour (if available) maybe? Or maybe a different place in Switzerland? I am open to anything? Thank you
P.S. my trip is booked for this August |
So why did you pick those places? It is perverse to spend three days in Lucerne and only two in Paris, especially if that is actually nights not days.
Use the Destination tab above on this page, and then go get some guidebooks. They will all have lists of popular tourist sites. |
thursdaysd: I wrote almost the same answer as your's. But then I thought that this must be a troll post. Imagine the cost and time it must take to travel between these four cities.
|
It defies logic when people book trips to places not knowing what there is to do. It seems to happen all too often if the questions are any indication. My favorite movie line applies: "What the..."

Quite likely a troll, especially given the screen name, but I felt like letting off a little steam.

What you have is a lovely tour of the train stations of europe with a sight or two in between, I hope that's what you had in mind.
Really - how can you decide to go places if you don;t know what you want to see/do there - or how much it will cost or how long it will take?? Strongly suggest you consult at least one guidebook, a decent map and the best train info website in europe - bahn.de. (You can buy tickets only for Germany but it has excellent schedules for the whole continent.) |
Maybe OP can read the guide books on the day long train rides between the destinations.

Wow there's some really rude people on here. I have ideas of what I want to see but I want more ideas preferably from people that are experienced and/or from that city. I didn't ask for your opinion on what I booked. If you can't answer the question, then don't even bother posting anything.
|
Salsa, there are as many things to do in any of these places as there are people to answer the question. That's the issue, not rudeness. You ask too much of us and that's the source of the reaction. Asking for "anything" as you have is unanswerable. There is nothing to work with and attitude is doesn't help a bit.

>> I have ideas of what I want to see but I want more ideas <<
Since we have no idea whet you already want to see how can we tell you what else is there? >> I didn't ask for your opinion on what I booked. << What you booked makes no sense - sorry but that is the truth. You have 10 days - that only equals approx 7 days to actually see/do anything. Day one is jet lag and acclimating. Then you lose between 1/2 a day and a FULL day every time you move. You actually have: Paris - 1+ day, Lucerne - 2 days, Venice - 1+ day, Barcelona - 2 days So if you already have a few ideas - that's probably all you'll have time for. Frank but true. Don't shoot the messenger. |
Menat to add:
>>Paris - 1+ day, And the one day will most likely be a jet lagged fog, so you really only have a few useable hours in Paris. . . |
I'm sorry if you felt our answers were rude.
We can start again if you give us some information about yourself. Are you locked into the itinerary or are you still flexible? Are you flying into Paris and out of Barcelona? Where are you flying from...USA? Another part of Europe? Are you in your 20's (guessing by your request for bars/clubs)? Traveling alone? Do you like to walk/hike? Are you looking for sit down restaurants, cheap eats, etc.? Do you like art museums or are you more into architecture or natural beauty? I have been to all the cities on your itinerary (except Barcelona) multiple times. I've trained between Paris and Switzerland, Switzerland and Italy. While you do see beautiful scenery while riding on the trains, both of the train trips take most of the day to transit. Thus, giving you less time in each of the cities. If you give us something to work with we can try to help you. |
Museums?
Food? Architecture? Fashion shopping? Bargain shopping? Shoes? Lingerie? Fishing tackle? History? Cemeteries? Dance clubs? Lesbian dance clubs? Roller skating? Prayer meetings? |
Sorry you are offended - but if you come demanding info and not giving any input - you hav given us nothing to work with I have been to all of those places multiple times and help a lot - but you have given me no incentive to do so.
And turning nasty isn;t going to work well here - just like it won't if you do the same thing while traveling. You are coming across as a petulant child - and I'm not sure you're ready to go to europe by yourself. |
