Definately second the trip to Chester. Double storey streets, very unusual and interesting. Just a shortish train trip.

"I'm NO friend of the Glazer's, but I already have tickets to a match. and we're doing the tour this time too since I've never done it before."

I was actually at the Benfica vs Man Utd Match in the CL - I must say I was somewhat split down the middle for the game. It was probably easier to get tickets for that game than old Trafford!

Good for you! wish the result had been different. I have several friends who are travelling Reds. They prefer away games to home games these days. I guess that's just the way it's gone- the business of football...

Anyway, I'm in town to meet Wayne Rooney so I hope to provide a trip report of interest. I always mean to write trip reports and then sadly never get around to it. Shame on me!
thanks for the tips!

oh and thanks for the Chester recommendations- I agree. When I was visiting galleries in Liverpool we opted to stay in Chester and I loved it! I likedf the Blossoms hotel and found it just what we needed to explore the city and then travel into Liverpool for the pre-raph exhibit. thansk for the tips
