What to do for 9 hour flight

O.K. I can't read or sleep on a plane so what do I do for 9 hours on a flight. I am going crazy thinking about it so please help.

Take along a deck of cards and play unlimited games of solitaire! Actually, I have the same problem. I'll be taking word puzzle books along, too. However, I CAN read while flying. Good luck!

Another thought from my previous one---have you tried the audio books? Bobbie

There's quite a long thread on this somewhere already. I saved the text and will repost from home tonight.

Although I am an avid reader, for some reason I find it difficult to concentrate on the plane (although I read the first Bridget Jones on one sitting across the Atlantic). So a large part of my arsenal is a book bag of two or three books, in case I get bored with the one I am reading; work-related items, which I never do; newspapers and magazines in both Italian and English as well as additional reading material I find at the airport before boarding. And then I snatch all the free newspapers I can when boarding. Needless to say, I am grumpy and weighted down for the rest of the trip.

The individual, back-of-the-seat screens have helped, I admit, but there is still the dreaded dead time between movies, which are increasingly more mundane.

Unfortunately, I have found the "cure." I say unfortunately because I am now addicted to the damn thing. I bought a little handheld electronic version of Scrabble, which you can play against the computer or with another person. I got it for Target for just under 30 dollars and played it most of the way from Houston to Paris.

But I really shouldn't be telling you this. I feel like the pusher standing around the schoolgrounds, saying, "Come on try it, it won't hurt you."
