Wildfire - Yes, I will be there in August. I am leaving in a few days in fact! Thanks for the tip regarding white villages. My route is correct then, Cadiz, Jerez and Ronda passing through white villages.
I am iffy about Gibraltar. It seems to be one those places that you need to see it once to know you are not missing anything!

Yes. Gibraltar is one of those really odd places. Last year I was wondering why everyone seemed to be trying to talk me out of including a side trip to Gibraltar. Though i found it historically interesting, and figuring i might as well check it out since i will be in the neighborhood. Though i dont regret going, it is somewhere i would advise going only if you have time to spare. If you are travelling from Cadiz/arcos there is much more of interest in that area, quite frankly.
Sounds like your trip is coming together nicely. Im sure you will have a great time, Spain is wonderful. Try to catch some flamenco in the Cadiz/Jerez area, you might also be able to catch village festivals in some of the small towns, which can be rather colorful. Aug. 16th-Fiesta de San Roque-near Arcos
Buen viaje
