What to do about Poland?

I am going to be in Vienna for 7 nights in March. I really want to take a day trip to Poland while I am there. Is there any city that can be taken by train that would be nice to see in Poland? And that does not take an really long time to get to? Please help me out with this.
Adam, there was just a post about this try doing a search. I mentioned to the previous poster that Krakow, Poland is a beautiful city, and located in southern Poland. I'm not sure how close or far it is from Vienna by train, but if you have some time and would like to see Poland.., I highly recommend Krakow! Beautiful town sqaure, and very inexpensive!

I can not wait to go back!

Krakow may be the closest Polish city of interest, but it appears to be 7 or 8 hours by train from Vienna, so this would not be a good day trip. Can you devote more time to seeing something of Poland?

I agree that a "daytrip" to Poland is silly. I spent a month there and did not see all. Kracow is a historic city, similar to Prague in some ways, and deserves 2 nights minimum, and getting there isn't that easy from Vienna.

Day trip from Vienna to Poland (cities like Krakow), maybe possible with overnight train (you have to remember that train takes longer since it is crossing few Borders and Mountains. Plane maybe a better option (Krakow has a large international Airport) flight should take an hour or less.

Zakopane is also a very interesting option for you. It is a beautiful resort in the Tatra mountain range. If you like hiking, skiing, or other outdoor activities, do not miss out on it. It is only 2 hours bus ride from Krakow too. I have also heard some nice things about Wroclaw, but I have never been there. I think its much closer to Vienna though.
