What to do about no cameras allowed
Hello,

My wife and I are going to Rome soon and it appears that many museums and some other sites do not allow cameras inside. If I was trying to go to a few activities in the same area and some did not allow cameras, are there any recommendations? Do these sites have small rental lockers to put stuff like that until your back out? If so, are those lockers secure?

Thank in advance,
-Matt

Hi Matt-most museums have a safe place to check your bags etc, because so many museums search bags these days and prefer that you not carry them through the museum..so I would think that if they specifically do not want cameras in the museum, they will have somewhere to leave them..hope this is a help.

Matt: Can't think of a museum that prohibits cameras and/or bags that doesn't provide a secure area to check or lockup same.

Matt:
In Rome if there is a sign in a museum no cameras allowed it means you are not allowed to take photos but you may take your camera with you as long as your camera bag is not oversized. That was our experience.

In over 20 trips to Europe I have never had to check my camera. Just keep the lens cover on (or keep it in its case if it is a point and shoot) and your hands off and you will be fine.
