Pls help us to choose the right place to go for a week in June somehwere between Sorrento and Amlfi coast.
We wish to be very close to the beach (desirably free or not expensive, in spectacular settting), to spend there most of the day plus a nice easy walk with a great view around, and to travel just a little. Just nature, views, swimming, good atmosphere.
We thought about apt or a cheap hotel under 100 euro, if possible.

I know dozens of hotels which meet your criteria - but certainly not under 100 Euros. I am afraid, proximity to beach and spectacular setting has its price.

You might check out Nerano/Marina del Cantone - lovely spot. Um, not sure if you're used to european beaches, but they are not liek FL or the Carib. Many are pebbles or stones, versus sand and they're usually quite narrow and near numerous buildings (unless you stay at one of the really upscale resorts).

Frankly I find beaches on Long Island about 10 times better (broad, fine white sand, and beautiful breakers coming in off the north atlantic.)

May I recommend the little village of Nerano. We stayed near there in Priora and wished we would have stayed there. It is a charming yet small place right on the water. It would be a very romantic and restful place. We had lunch, walked on the beach and looked in some shops. We both said this place warrants more time.

I haven't stayed at Quattro Passi, but I've eaten there and it's well worth the visit. If you're planning to have a car, it would be worth checking it out for an overnight stay.

I don't think I'd stay there myself because I usually prefer to get around by public transportation and on foot. There are buses to Nerano/Marina del Cantone, but it would be pretty inconvenient to depend on them if you want to do much touring. One time I was there, I took a bus to Termini, then walked down to Nerano, then Marina del Cantone. Spent a delightful afternoon eating and exploring, then took a boat back to Sorrento. Another time I took buses there and back.

Another recommendation would be Vico Equense, an unspoilt small town clinging to the cliffs above the Bay of Naples. There are picturesque narrow streets, views to die for, easy walks through olive groves. Vico has its own station on the Circumvesuviana, 2 stops before Sorrento, so you have easy access to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, etc. There is also a good-sized bus terminal here. During the season, when catching a bus to the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento entails long queues, you can get on in Vico without any waiting.

Vico has a beach and small marina. There's also a prestigious Culinary Arts Institute here and some good restaurants. The very quirky Hotel Oriente is where I've stayed a few times. Thank you for the advice! If it's Marina del Cantone, does anyone know anything on Villagio Nettuno there? I find very contradicting reviews. Is a quite place?
