I forget the name of the shop, but I always buy some gifts (and some stuff for myself) from this little botique in Covent Garden that sells herbal bath products.

Well, I will definitely be hitting Boots, because it seems to be a big hit here. I always can use some bath products!! Where are these 2-for-1's you are speaking of?? In the store, or would I need a coupon??
And i have seen mention of teapots and china "rejects"? Where are some decent places to find these? I would love to buy some china. Of course, it'll probably be in a million pieces by the time I get back to Orlando.
I won't be shopping for clothes. However I might just look for some tartan type stuff.
Anybody ever been up to Hexham? Any places cool to shop at on the way up from London?

julies
could it be Neals Yard? that is in Covent Garden. I love them, bring home lots of lip balms and body lotions
Boots has great hair brushes too!
Actually, when we were in LOndon last and stayed in So Kensington, the pharmacy around the corner from our flat was a treasure trove of stuff! Beauty products, hair thingees, tweezers, brushes, I was so happy, my husband went across the street to a really nice wine shop and the two of us shopped our little heads off! BTW-he ran into Peter Arnett in that wine shop..

Reject China Shop is a store. One is located up the street from Harrod's.

For yourself, there are many large and small pieces of Wedgewood. I have a small saucer as well as a brooch and a pendant. You will also find Lilliput Lane buildings. My daughter gave me one of Kensington Palace, and I bought one of Big Ben. St. Paul's Cathedral has a very nice shop in the basement. And don't forget artwork, available in the museums and galleries.

Have a good time. London is my favorite city.

"The Original Suffolk" teapot from John Lewis Dept Store. It is terracotta colored with the words "For use at home or on Safari" printed on it.

I collect all kinds of cat related items. Merchandise in the shape of a cat or with cats on it. Does anyone know a shop that sells cat stuff? Thanks.

Angeleno - NOOOO! you certainly don't need a customer card to get the 2 for 1 deals. I think the card you are talking about is the Boots points cards, which is a loyalty card that you apply for (I have one). When you make your purchases you give them your card, get points, then eventually money off future goods (exept I always forget mine..doh).

The deals are usually found at the end of the aisles, easy to see - they include such items as Charles Worthington hair products, Radox creme baths, everyday stuff such as toothpaste etc. Anyone can take advantage, just grab the stuff and go to the checkout!

We travel to England every 18 months or so, and always have a whirlwind shopping spree at Marks and Spencer. Sure, similar clothing can be purchased in the US and perhaps cheaper, but the quality can't be beat.

Hi:
A few years ago I discovered bias relief plaques of homes and building in England and Ireland. I found them in catalogs here in the States. They come from a company called Lakeland Studios. While shopping along Park Lane towards Picadilly and across from Fortnum and Mason I happened into a souvenior store.
In the glass cases I found six of these plaques that I had not seen before. I bought all six and I paid much less that I had previous from the catalogs. So I'll be looking for them again when I return to London.
They look lovely in my main hallway!

Having seen a few people mention Penhaligon's, let me mention a few similar places to visit in London:
Geo Trumper - men's cologne, aftershave, razors, etc

Jo Malone - great aromatherapy stuff, like bath gels, lotions, etc

Neal's Yard - great little store in Covent Garden. They sell all natural shampoos, lotions, etc, in great blue cobalt bottles.

I am back, armed with another question. What are the best areas to hit a number of shops at once? We will be lugging our not-so-happy husbands with us. Once again, interested in china and bath products. Thanks everyone!!!
