What time of evening/night does it get dark in London?

I want to go on The Eye and someone told me that early evening would be a nice time of day to go up. Have you been? What can you tell us?

Also the tour boats that go on the Thymes? We see that there are also Dinner Cruises. I wonder would these be better in the early evening...or later in the evening when all of the lights come on all around?

What about Wine? For a glass of Burgandy or Zinfindel, what $$$ am I looking at for just a House wine, or a little better? Here in the states we are looking at $7.00 USD to approximately $ 9.00 -- how does this compare?

After all, we will be on vacation and one can expect to spend money to have a good time, but I am just wondering how much will it cost me to have "a good time?"

Getting ready for "fun."

Depending on time of year it could be anything between 4:00pm & 10:00pm

What time the sun sets obviously depends on the day, you can check here http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...omy.html?n=136

As for a glass of wine, you can get a large glass in most pubs (250ml) for about £5-7 and up of course! You can also get small glasses (175ml) for less. Keep in mind that a large glass is way bigger than I have been served in the US...it is 1/3 of a bottle!

To answer your title question:

Can't really help with the other questions, I'm afraid - it's either a matter of taste or not something I've experience of.

I appreciate your responses. Again, I have sent these to my traveling pals.

It's hard to believe that we will be flying out of Houston this Thursday, Aug. 16th.

We are all very excited and will use all of your nice suggestions. I have made a little booklet and will carry it with us.

We leave on the 16th and return August 31st ! ! !

Thanks SO much.
