I haven't a clue, but if I were in your place, I'd e-mail one of the hotels, such as Hotel Infanta Isabel and ask. I did that once while looking for a room in Normandy and got a very nice and helpful response. Perhaps they could refer you to someplace a little out of town ...

Thank you! I will check Expedia and Travelocity -- I've never used either of those sites before for European hotels (have used for airfare) -- do they normally list more hotels? Only 3 with available rooms seems like extremely slim pickins for a city that size, so something must be going on there that weekend. Maybe some Christmas thing?

OK -- so I looked on Expedia and Travelocity. In total, there are 4 hotels between the two sites. Two of those hotels are nowhere near the center, and one only has single rooms available (I need a triple or a double with a cot). The only hotel left is Acueducto -- has anyone stayed there? I booked it -- but at this point I'm thinking of adding a day on to my hotel in Madrid and doing a day trip to Segovia -- though I've read that it is really great to stay the night in Segovia to get the real feel of the place. Who knew it would be such a problem?

If you're still having problems with lodgings in Segovia, then might I suggest you contact someone in the travel industry who's in the area. You can try a company called Totally Spain. They might be able to find something nice for you in the city. They've always been able to find things for us when we need a nice room and they often have better rates then you'll fine on-line.

Kids are probably out of school the week before Christmas and Segovia has many attractions, not the least of which is its proximity to Ski resorts in the area (also vilages like Sepulveda). It's a nice place for a Christmas getaway from Madrid.

Hi all:
MichelleNYC, there is no Parador in Rascafria. You can find there the hotel Santa Maria de El Paular, really impressive. It was run by the State, but now is run by Sheraton.
You can check this wonderful hotel, but the drive time to Segovia will be about 1 hour or more.
