What neighborhood in Athens, Greece

Hello, We are a family of four traveling to Athens in May. I'm looking into renting an apartment. My two choices are to stay in the area of Anafiotika, the foothills of the Acropolis. It is closer to Plaka.
My other option is to stay by the Acopolis Museum. Just don't know if the latter choice is an area that has many tavernas, or much activity. Thank you for any assistance.

These are not that far apart. Yes, there are restaurants near the Acropolos Museum. Look at ManiMani for excellent food, nice setting.

Anafiotika is an exciting very old part of Athens, that looks like a cycladic village... located in the middle of a big city !!
It offers great view over the city, and of course the Plaka is just a few seconds away...with many restaurants and cafes
I find this location so unique, that i would choose it at a heartbeat .. Just make sure the apartment has easy access, as otherwise you would have to climb many steps to get there...

The Acropolis area is very close to the Plaka as well , it is a mainly residential area, walking to Plaka is easy...but there are restaurants there too, ManiMani was already mentioned, i would add Attikos House too, with it's stunning 360 degrees view over the Acropolis and the surroundings...
