Lateday: Thanks for the recommendation for Niall Ferguson. I've heard his name, but I can't remember which book. I wonder if I have something on my kindle.

Peg, have you read Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945, by Tony Judt? I read it last spring, over many weeks, it's a fat book! I learned SO much!

Hi again PEG,
"Thanks for the recommendation for Niall Ferguson. I've heard his name, but I can't remember which book." Indeed, Ferguson has written many books, mostly about European history, the "decline" of the West, WWI and such. Here is a clip of him being interviewed by Charlie Rose about his new book KISSINGER. Just finished it last nite. Excellent. Note - this guy is pretty easy on the eye too, eh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ42RvvLCGo TRAVLSOLO2, "...have you read Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945, by Tony Judt?" Not yet for me, but I have heard it's excellent. On my list - thanks for the reminder. |
travelsolo: Yes, I've read Postwar. It's made the rounds with my two brothers and me. I finally put it on my kindle because of its size.
It was amazing. It really opened my eyes to so much. Lateday: Very handsome. And so smart, which I always find intriguing. When you first mentioned his name, I checked him out on Amazon. I am tempted by the book on WWI because I've read a fair amount about it, and I'm always interested in learning more. This book on Kissinger sounds fabulous. I'm afraid I'll have to get that one too. |
PEG, getting KISSINGER on Kindle is a good idea. The book is really hefty!
I enjoy watching writers like Ferguson on Youtube interviews - of course, he plays very well. I just bought an Ipad and have started buying a few books - currently reading THE WITCHES. |
