Big museum -- Musee D'Orsay. Fabulous building, and beautiful art. Watching the day progress against the facade of the building, from sunrise to sunset, is art in itself.

Smaller -- Musee Marmottan. Beautiful and more tranquil setting than L'Orangerie to appreciate Monet, particularly.

Do visit the Pompidou for its glorious permanent collection of Matisse and other 20th century artists, and for the experience of the museum itself. Don't spend time on the current exhibitions. I boycotted it for quite a few years because of its techno ugliness, but I was happily amazed to discover what a wonderful interior space it is for viewing works of art. It's an awful lot of fun, especially the escalators running up and down the building's exterior. Don't miss the Ste. Chappelle, the Cluny, the D'Orsay and the Louvre on this trip. When you do the Louvre, limit yourself to just one section. That's all you need to have an experience of the museum.
