Cannes or Nice in July for a week?

Hi All,

Never been to the Cote d'azur before, so I'd like to use this as a base and daytrip to other coastal towns after spending a week in Aix-en-provence.

Thanks!

I think there is a lot more to see around Nice than Cannes, or at least it seems easier to access from Nice.

I'd pick Nice hands down over Cannes! Nice has lots to offer. Cannes is famous for being famous--and expensive.

Nice is a fine place to base yourself, as there are good train and bus connections all along the coast.

If your budget allows it, I would suggest one of the hotels in Cannes such as the Carlton. Staying in a view room or suite with the nice sandy beach by the boardwalk is wonderful. It has a train station for day tripping too.
