What is Whit Monday?
 

I am not familiar with Whit Monday? In what countries is it celebrated? Will train travel in Italy be a problem on this "holiday"? Appreciate anyone's help.

Whitmonday is the Monday following Whitsunday (Pentecost), the 7th Sunday following Easter. In Christianity Pentecost (the 50th day) celebrates the descension of the Holy Spirit on the disciples. <BR> <BR>A fairly major holiday in many European countries. <BR>Kathleen, <BR> <BR>as far as I know Whit Monday is a holiday in Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, France, Hungary, Luxemburg, Norway, The Netherlands, and Sweden. Therefore you should have no problems in Italy.
