What is under scaffolding in Rome and Florence?

Hello Fodorites,

My DD and I leave for Rome and Florence on 2/9. I was wondering if any recent visitors can tell me what is currently under renovation? From what I understand, it is always something! Thanks.

Lots at Piazza Navona incuding the Bernini fountain.

Are the Piazza Navona fountains still covered in scaffolding? Hope to see them next week.

They were (a lot !!) the 4th of January when I was there. Also the church above the Spanish Steps (I'm sorry, I forgot the name !!).

Not too recent, but as of last June, the church at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome and Santa Maria Novella in Florence.

as some wag once said about Italy and scaffolding - the scaffolding has been there so long that it's now considered to be a part of the facade.
