You must have enormous nipples because those rings are huge.

UPDATE: I got another one, same old story, and since I have what would be considered average-sized nipples, I suppose I can hang guest towels from them!

We just returned from Paris and a woman tried the ring trick on me. I was always polite but always insisted she keep the ring, it wasn't mine, told her to sell it if she need money, and then walked on. Also, the new trick now is the survey sheets. They push a piece of paper and pen in your face and ask you to sign. This one is more common. We had it tried on us and saw many kids at various sights with their 'surveys". Always be our your guard when in Paris.

Just returned after spending a week in Paris. The "gold" ring was tried the first day and several times thereafter. By the third time, my husband decided to have some fun. Unfortunately, it was at the precise moment that I poked myself below the eye and popped my contact out. Picture me, frozen to the sidewalk approaching the Musee d'Orsay, yelling at my husband to stop...help me find my contact (sidewalk was narrow), and at the same moment both noticing the fake palming of the ring, which the woman offered to him. He said "not mine, yours?" She of course said "no." He then takes the ring and says to her, "well, lets just throw it away for someone else to find!" and makes a throwing motion. Imagine her panic, as she takes the ring back and takes off. I told him this will be funny in the retelling, but right now HELP ME FIND MY CONTACT LENS!!! Sorry to say, didn't find the contact, but had a little fun at the scammer's expense!

Whatever you do DO NOT ACCEPT the ring. It means you are betrothed to a" Romanian" or someone else from "there". The second you accept the ring a person of the cloth pops up says a few words and in minutes off you go in horse drawn cart, with a big mustache, boots, red scarf, strumming the balalaika. And dancing the chardash. Eating kielbasa. A long knife in your belt. Etc

I think s/he might have meant Molvania rather than Romania - except that there, they only want you for your teeth. They have the donkey for everything else.
