What is there to do in Milan on a Sunday?

I know most shops are closed. What is there to do in Milan or surrounding area if I'm not into going to a museum? I love being outdoors and exploring.

thank for any suggestions.

I agree with Carlos. We were in Milan on a Sunday and there was nothing to do except wander the streets and window shop.

Maybe the Galleria Mall is open though.

Go to the Duomo. Take the stairs or elevator and walk around on the roof. You'll be outdoors & exploring all the statues plus a nice view of Milan.

Day trip to one of the lakes? For example, the fast train to Stresa only takes an hour.

La Rinascente department store is open 10:00 - 21:00 including Sunday. At the top floor, they have a big coffe shop with terrace facing the Duomo.

Thursdaysd, Shanti & Kappa,
Thank you-those are all great suggestions!
Dina 4, I also heard that Peck's is open http://www.peck.it/
which is supposed to be an unbelievable gourmet store & experience. It was written up in La Cucina Italiana Magazine's Nov/Dec issue and looks amazing.

Stroll along the canals. Day-trip to Bergamo.

Peck's looks amazing!
I found the address, but mapquest can't seem to locate it.
Can anyone help with that?

Looks like the La Scala Museum is open on Sunday, too.

I think you can peek into the theater if you go into the museum. Is that the only way to do so? (other than buying opera tickets!)

Rinascente looks great, too. I'm figuring that is right by the duomo. ("piazza duomo")

I think we'll also push our visit to the duomo for Sunday, since it's open that day, and visit the roof.

Yes, that's right. If you face Galleria with Duomo on your back, the store is on the right at the beginning of the shopping street Corso Vittorio Emanuelle II. They have a new gourmet food department on the top floor along with a cafe I mentioned above + 1 bar + 1 sushi bar. They also have ATM on this floor in case you need to buy €. Also kitchen tools are on the basement floor I think.

Peck is in Via Spadari right next to the Hotel Spadari Al Duomo and well worth a visit.
