What is the weather like in Rome around April?

Is it going to rain a lot, or will it be cold?

Steve: We experienced rain, but I don't remember being cold. It didn't rain every day and we had some lovely sunny days. Take an umbrella (mine stays in my tote bag no matter where we travel). I think you will be comfortable in shirt sleeves most of the time and possibly a lightweight jacket on occasion.

We always travel in spring or fall and the weather has been basically good (until our recent trip to France where we had tons of rain). Although crowds seem to be larger in recent years, I'm sure they don't compare to the summer months.

Steve, we were there in late March & early April this year and, while it was rainy and cool for two days, for the most part the weather was sunny and quite warm during the day. In the evening, there always seemed to be a bit of a wind that cooled things down considerably.
