What is the best way to get from Paris to Florence?
Mom and 2 teenage girls (one my daughter and one my niece) want to go from Paris to Florence. What is the best way to accomplish this? Train or Air? If Air, what airline??
Thanks! |
I have taken the overnight train from Paris to Venice.
It was fun and easy. The kids might think it is fun. |

There is no direct (nonstop) flight from Paris to Florence. One option would be fly from Paris Orly to Pisa (via easyjet). |
Another option is to train to Rome FCO and get a well priced flight on Vueling. They do a little chart that shows when the best prices occur.
|
If you decide to use EasyJet, there is a bus transport from Florence to the Pisa airport.

Train!! every time!

YK,
Air France flies directly from CDG to Peretola. |
Sorry, MrNuke. What I meant earlier was no nonstop flights between the two cities on budget airlines. Thanks for the correction.

depends on how much time you have. Its a great train ride on the TGV from paris to Milan, But takes about 6 hours. From Milan I'd expect about 2-3 hours to get to florence. Easy trip , no stress, great scenary, but will take most of the day. The trip is`part of the holiday.

I've taken the overnight Artesia trains Paris-Florence several times - i think teens would have a great adventure - experiencing Europe's overnight trains. And scour www.sncf-voyages.com for advance deep discounted tickets.

My family took the overnight train from Paris to Florence last November. You leave from the Bercy station in Paris and arrive at the Campo di Something station in Florence, from which there are frequent and fast trains to the main Santa Maria Novella station in Florence.
The price was cheaper and the schedule more convenient for my family than any of the air options, and it was a fun adventure. Good luck. |
