What is the best way to get from Naples to Positano?

We will be leaving Rome on Sunday October 19. There will be 4 of us and our luggage. (2 are coming off of a 10 day cruise) We are planning to take a train to Naples. What is the best way to get to Positano? Hydrofoil? Cab? Limo?

Or should we be hiring a car to drive us down since there are 4 of us?

Thanks,

Diane

Best way? Hire a limo if price is no object. In my opinion, renting a car would be the most practical.

I took the hydrofoil and it was really enjoyable. The scenary was beautiful You can either sit outside or inside the cabin which is air conditioned.. (that may vary on what hydrofoil you are on though)

but if you want luxury a nd windblowing in your face, then hire a driver...

Hi teach,

Train fare 1 cl on the ES* Rome to Naples is 33E. Limo from Naples to Positano is about 100E for 2 people. Limo Rome to Positano for 2 people is about 400E.

I would not suggest schlepping the luggage from Naples to Positano on the Circumvesuviana train and the SITA bus.

Thanks guys. We've decided to rent a car from Rome to Positano and from Ravello back to the Rome airport.
