What is the best Itinerary for an Art lover on the Coast of France, Italy and Spain

Please help me figure out where to go and what to do to see art on the coast of France, Italy and Spain. Especially romantic or impressionists painters like Monet. I am going on a Meditteranean Cruise in September, and I have never visited these countries before, we will probably be in each country only one day each. Thank you for your time and expertise!

Which French coast--the Atlantic, the Mediterrnean? It makes quite a difference. The Impresisonist painters and their followers were active in Normandy and Brittany, down around Collioure in the south, and from St-Rémy (van Gogh) to Aix (Cézanne) to Nice (Matisse, Dufy, Monet, Chagall).

Where on the Mediterranean in France will you have your own day? That's not going to give you much time to go very far afield. If it's near Nice, you can easily spend your time there seeing the Matisse museum, the Chagall museum, and the Musée des Beaux Arts. You could also rent a car and driver and head up to St-Paul-de-Vence for a meal at La Colombe d'Or, which has a fine collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings given by the artists to the hotel/restaurant's owner in exchange for food and lodging.

hi

This very much depends which ports you visit. In my area, you can think of :

Marseille - visit Arles, Aix & Avignon
Sete - visit Ceret & Montpellier
Barcelona - visit Figueres

But you will probably only have time for the port city itself, and maybe one nearby visit !
